This isn’t just a credential—it’s proof that the technician has completed required classroom hours, passed a technical examination, and met state competency standards. A license is the legal baseline for HVAC work in Pennsylvania, and we exceed that baseline.
Every J&G Heating & Air Conditioning technician undergoes comprehensive onboarding covering company standards, customer service expectations, safety protocols, and technical fundamentals. We don’t put inexperienced staff in customer homes without proper training and supervised experience. New technicians work alongside experienced team members, learning not just technical skills but also how to communicate with homeowners, how to diagnose problems methodically, and how to deliver the J&G Heating & Air Conditioning standard of service.
We encourage and support NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification because it raises the bar across the entire industry. NATE certification requires technicians to pass a rigorous examination covering heating systems, air conditioning systems, heat pump systems, and electrical theory. Technicians who pursue NATE certification are making a commitment to continuous learning and demonstrated technical competency against national standards.
